{"id":1202,"date":"2019-08-09T01:10:11","date_gmt":"2019-08-09T01:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zimwonders.co.zw\/?p=1202"},"modified":"2019-08-09T01:10:11","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T01:10:11","slug":"zimbabwe-tourism-minister-fired","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zimwonders.co.zw\/index.php\/2019\/08\/09\/zimbabwe-tourism-minister-fired\/","title":{"rendered":"Zimbabwe Tourism Minister Fired"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ZIMBABWE&#8217;S<\/strong> President Emmerson Mnangagwa has, with immediate effect, relieved Tourism Minister, Priscah Mupfumira from both the office of Cabinet and Government Minister.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter signed by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, cites Mupfumira\u2019s inappropriate conduct as the reason why the president fired her.<\/p>\n<p>Mupfumira is currently in jail over several counts of corruption and criminal abuse of office which prejudiced National Social Security Athority (NSSA), a pension scheme whose contribution is meant for all workers, of several millions of US dollars.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mupfumira formerly held the portfolio of&nbsp; Minister of Labour and Social Services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Please be advised that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde E D Mnangagwa, has in terms of section 340, subsection (1), paragraph (f), as read with section 104, subsection (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe has removed you, Priscah Mupfumira from the office of Cabinet Minister and Minister of Government with immediate effect for conduct inappropriate for a Government Minister&#8221;, read the dismissal letter.<\/p>\n<div id=\"emojics-root\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ZIMBABWE&#8217;S President Emmerson Mnangagwa has, with immediate effect, relieved Tourism Minister, Priscah Mupfumira from both the office of Cabinet and Government Minister.
