The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority won a gold medal for the Zimbabwean Best Exhibit in the Travel and Tourism sector at the just ended Zimbabwean International Trade Fair (ZITF) held in Zimbabwe’s second largest city, Bulawayo.

The Authority manages one of the largest estates in the country, about 5 million hectares of land or 13% of Zimbabwe’s total land area. The wholly owned government entity  manages wildlife parks and lodges in different parts of the country.

The Authority has a mandate to manage the entire wildlife population of Zimbabwe, whether on private or communal lands. Private landowners can utilize the wildlife on their land but are still accountable to the Authority for the welfare of the animals.

Prizes were presented on  Friday during the official opening ceremony of the Fair by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni. The 5-day Fair which ran under the theme – Propagating Industrial Growth through Trade and Investment ran from 23 – 27 April 2019.

Now in its 60th edition it is an annual multi-national expo which provides a convenient trade hub to the local, regional and international enterprises and corporates of all sizes within the business community
